The Vulnerable Youth Program (VYP) at the heart of Ulemu Fight Academy is a pioneering program using MMA to transform the lives of Zambia’s most vulnerable youth. Through three 12-week cycles each year, the program reaches hundreds of at-risk children aged 5–16, providing mentorship, structured physical training, and life skills education. This isn’t just about fitness - every session embeds values like self-respect, discipline, and teamwork. For many children, this is their first safe space, their first team, and their first step toward hope, structure, and a positive future.

12 STEPS TO SELF REALISATION AND EMPOWERMENT
The program’s 12-point curriculum is rooted in compassion and realism. Each module tackles issues that vulnerable youth face daily - from gender-based violence, drug abuse, and mental health, to literacy, the enviroment, fake news, and child rights. Sessions are interactive and trauma-informed, often led by fighters, role models, and community advocates. Children not only gain confidence and physical ability - they leave with tangible tools for survival, growth, and contribution. This is not charity - it is structured empowerment through sport, built on integrity and results.

A COMPLETE MMA ECO-SYSTEM
The VYP also serves as a powerful talent identification platform. Promising athletes are nurtured through Zambia’s national amateur league and the IMMAF grading system, with opportunities to join the elite Ulemu Fight Team. Graduates gain not only certifications but also access to career pathways - some of our VYP alumni are already on the Zambia National Team competing internationally.
